theme problems

I’ve just noticed some problems with the layout of my site in Apple’s Safari web browser. I’m working on fixing it, but am unsure what is actually wrong right now.

    well I’ve fixed the vertical banner down the left-hand side, at least.. now to decide whether I should go to bed or not?!
